At Trove Muffin Orbit, we view the morning meal not just as sustenance, but as a lens into cultural history.
Our project began with a simple observation: while dinners are often internationalised and lunches are rushed, breakfasts remain stubbornly traditional. When travelers seek authentic local experiences, the morning meal is often the most accurate representation of indigenous ingredients and historical habits.
Our Methodology
We do not rely on resort buffets or modern fusion cafes. Our documentation stems from early morning visits to street vendors, local diners, and home kitchens. We analyze the intersection of climate, agriculture, and labor to understand why a bowl of spicy noodles makes sense in humid climates, while dense rye bread is favored in colder northern regions.
The Team
We are a small collective of culinary historians, writers, and photographers dedicated to preserving these morning rituals before they are completely homogenized by globalized cafe culture.
